A Legacy in Cape Cods' Beauty

Our Story

Jon L. Holmes & Sons traces its roots back to 1954, when Jon Lockwood Holmes, a former town arborist and local legend who grew up on a dairy farm, began building a reputation for hard work, knowledge, and care for the land. His two sons, Jack (Jon Holmes Jr.) and Dan Holmes, carried that vision forward, helping grow the company and officially incorporating the business in 1994 as Holmestead Nursery Inc. What began as a local family operation has grown into a trusted landscape company serving customers from Provincetown to Plymouth, with West Yarmouth remaining its home base.

Through the years, the Holmes family has stayed committed to quality workmanship, strong relationships, and taking pride in every property they serve. Today, Jon’s grandchildren; Adam, Brady, and Christian Holmes, are helping carry the family tradition forward. As the company enters its next generation, Jon L. Holmes & Sons remains proud of where it came from and excited to continue building on a legacy more than 70 years in the making.
